Jeong Ji-hoon, better known by his gamertag Chovy, has established himself as one of the most dominant mid laners in League of Legends history. Born on March 3, 2001, in South Korea, Chovy's journey to becoming a professional player began in 2017 when he debuted with KeG Gwangju in the 2017 KeSPA Cup. His exceptional talent quickly caught the attention of Griffin's coaching staff, led by Kim "cvMax" Dae-ho, who scouted the young prodigy and brought him into the organization in March 2018.

Chovy's early career with Griffin was nothing short of spectacular. Despite starting as a backup to Shin "Rather" Hyeong-seop, he quickly proved his worth when subbed in during Griffin's debut LCK match against Hanwha Life Esports. In that game, Chovy recorded an impressive 14 kills, two deaths, and 12 assists, helping Griffin secure a comeback victory. From that moment on, he became a regular starter and established himself as one of the most promising talents in the league.

During his time with Griffin from 2018 to 2019, Chovy showcased his mechanical prowess and champion versatility. He reached the LCK Finals in his rookie season and won the 2018 KeSPA Cup, earning Finals MVP honors. The 2019 season saw Chovy achieve record-setting performances, including a peak KDA of 115 and being named LCK Spring Split MVP. However, Griffin faced internal turmoil following the 2019 World Championship, with head coach cvMax being dismissed and allegations of contract violations emerging. Chovy's next chapter saw him join DragonX (later DRX) in 2020, reuniting with cvMax as head coach. However, Hanwha Life failed to qualify for the LCK playoffs for the first time in Chovy's career. They did secure a spot in the World Championship through the regional qualifier but were eliminated in the quarterfinals by T1.

Chovy's career took a significant turn in 2022 when he joined Gen.G, reuniting with support Son "Lehends" Si-woo. This move proved to be transformative, as Gen.G dominated the 2022 LCK Summer Split with a 17-1 record, the best in LCK history. Chovy finally broke through to win his first LCK title, defeating T1 in the finals. The team's success continued into the 2023 season, where Chovy secured two more LCK titles and made his first Mid-Season Invitational appearance. Although Gen.G fell short in the MSI finals against T1, Chovy's performances solidified his status as one of the world's best mid laners.

The 2024 season marked Chovy's historical achievement as he became the first player in LCK history to win four consecutive LCK titles. His dominance continued into 2025, where he led Gen.G to an undefeated first half of the LCK regular season (18-0) and secured back-to-back MSI championships, earning Finals MVP honors. Chovy's impact extends beyond domestic success, as he represented South Korea at the 2022 Asian Games, winning a gold medal and earning an exemption from mandatory military service.
