Biography

Jay "sinatraa" Won is a former professional Valorant and Overwatch player who made a significant impact on both competitive scenes before his career was derailed by controversy. Born on March 18, 2000, in Shoreline, Washington, Won developed a passion for first-person shooters from a young age, particularly enjoying games like Halo 3, Call of Duty, and Counter-Strike.

Won's professional journey began in Overwatch, where he initially competed for Selfless Gaming before joining the San Francisco Shock in the Overwatch League's inaugural season in 2018. Despite being only 17 years old at the time, he quickly established himself as one of the league's premier damage players. In the 2019 Overwatch League season, Won's exceptional performances led to him being awarded the Most Valuable Player and helped the San Francisco Shock win the 2019 Overwatch League Grand Finals. He also represented Team USA in the Overwatch World Cup from 2017 to 2019, winning the championship in 2019 and being named tournament MVP.

In April 2020, Won transitioned to Valorant, signing with Sentinels and quickly establishing himself as one of the game's top players. His aggressive duelist playstyle and exceptional mechanical skills made him a standout performer in the early Valorant competitive scene. With Sentinels, Won won multiple tournaments including the PAX Arena Invitational, Pop Flash, and JBL Quantum Cup. His performances during this period were characterized by high kill counts, impressive assists, and clutch plays that helped solidify Sentinels as one of North America's top teams.

However, Won's promising Valorant career came to an abrupt halt in March 2021 when he was suspended following sexual assault allegations from his ex-girlfriend. The allegations led to investigations by both Riot Games and Sentinels, resulting in a six-month competitive ban from Riot events. The controversy also led to the removal of his Overwatch League MVP skin and the end of his tenure with Sentinels.

After his suspension, Won focused on content creation and streaming while expressing interest in returning to competitive play. In January 2023, he joined the free agent team Untamable Beasts, marking his return to professional Valorant competition. His comeback represents one of the most notable redemption stories in esports, as he attempts to rebuild his career and reputation in the competitive scene.

Throughout his career, Won has been known for his aggressive playstyle, exceptional aim, and ability to perform under pressure. His mechanical skill and game sense made him a formidable opponent in both Overwatch and Valorant, and his impact on both games' competitive scenes was significant during his active years.
