Astralis

Astralis is a Danish esports organization founded on January 18, 2016, by the former Danish roster of Team SoloMid (TSM) who sought to create a player-owned esports organization. The founding members—Peter 'dupreeh' Rasmussen, Andreas 'Xyp9x' Højsleth, Nicolai 'dev1ce' Reedtz, and Danny 'zonic' Sørensen—established Astralis as a pioneering model of player empowerment in esports.

Initially competing in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Astralis quickly rose to prominence, winning their first major title at the ELEAGUE Major: Atlanta 2017. The organization's success continued with additional major championships at FACEIT Major: London 2018, IEM Katowice 2019, and StarLadder Major: Berlin 2019, making them the first team to win four CS:GO majors and the only team to achieve three consecutive major victories.

Astralis revolutionized CS:GO with their strategic approach, meticulous preparation, and innovative utility usage. Under the leadership of in-game leader Lukas 'gla1ve' Rossander (who joined in 2016) and coach zonic, the team dominated the competitive scene from 2018 to 2019, holding the #1 spot in HLTV's world rankings for a record 406 consecutive days.

The organization expanded beyond CS:GO, venturing into League of Legends by acquiring the Origen brand in 2019. Astralis Group later rebranded the LEC team as Astralis, competing in Europe's premier League of Legends competition until 2023 when the slot was sold to Karmine Corp.

Astralis's roster has seen numerous changes over the years, with their golden era featuring dev1ce, dupreeh, Xyp9x, gla1ve, and Magisk. The team's legacy extends beyond trophies, having established new standards for professionalism, player welfare, and strategic innovation in esports. Their influence continues to shape how teams approach competitive gaming, making Astralis one of the most successful and respected organizations in esports history.
