Virtus.pro
Virtus.pro is a Russian esports organization founded in 2003 that has become one of the most successful and decorated teams in competitive gaming history. Originally established as a Counter-Strike 1.6 team, Virtus.pro has expanded to compete in multiple titles including Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, Rainbow Six Siege, and various other esports disciplines.
The organization gained international recognition in the mid-2010s when their Counter-Strike team, featuring the legendary Polish lineup of TaZ, NEO, pashaBiceps, Snax, and byali, dominated the competitive scene. This roster won two Major championships at ESL One Katowice 2014 and ESL One Cologne 2015, cementing Virtus.pro's place among the elite organizations in esports.
Following the departure of their Polish core, Virtus.pro rebuilt with a CIS-focused roster that achieved similar success. The team, featuring players like Jame, YEKINDAR, and FL1T, won the PGL Major Stockholm 2021 and Flashpoint Season 2 in 2020. Their current CS2 roster continues to compete at the highest level, with recent additions like electroNic and n0rb3r7 strengthening their international presence.
Beyond Counter-Strike, Virtus.pro's Dota 2 division has been equally impressive, featuring legendary players like RAMZES666, No[o]ne, and Solo. The organization has accumulated over $5.9 million in Counter-Strike prize money alone and has been a consistent presence at major tournaments across multiple games.
Virtus.pro has faced challenges including the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which led to temporary roster changes and the use of alternative tags like 'Outsiders' to comply with tournament regulations. Despite these obstacles, the organization has maintained its competitive edge and continues to be a major force in global esports.
